"What is Reiki?"  is a question I have frequently been asked.

In simple words, Reiki is a holistic healing art for stress reduction, relaxation and spiritual growth.  It is an alternative treatment method of amplifying our inner healing light, which is known as “ki”. Healthy “ki” nourishes our physical body, and helps to balance our mental and emotional energy. Reiki healing balances your chakras.  Chakras are said to be "force centres" or focal points for the reception and transmission of energies.

Reiki is often preferred because it balances energy on all the levels where energy flows are blocked. It helps to release underlying thoughts and emotions that cause the disease while healing the physical symptoms of the disease.

This phenomenol energy comes from the Universal source and has its own intelligence.  Reiki knows exactly where to go and what to do. Reiki can be used to treat nearly any physical or emotional ailment or simply for overall well-being in one who is relatively healthy.

Many people also find that Reiki is a form of Divine healing love which helps them deepen their awareness of their innate spirituality.

A Reiki session looks somewhat like a massage therapy session. During your Reiki treatment, you’ll lie comfortably and fully clothed on a massage table. Reiki will flow into and through the practitioner, out their hands and into the client.  Many clients prefer to have Reiki massage sessions.

The benefits of Reiki include the following:

  • More creative
  • Mental and emotional clarity
  • More balanced
  • Less emotional
  • Less stressed
  • More relaxed
  • More vitality
  • More awareness
  • Less or no pain
  • More ability to fall asleep quickly
  • More ease of movement

The Reiki Principles developed by Dr. Usui state:
Just for today, do not anger
Just for today, do not worry
Just for today, do your work with honesty
Just for today, be humble and filled with gratitude
Just for today, be kind to all living things
